Dit is de eerste blended Japanse whisky van de distilleerderij, samengesteld uit malt whisky van Shindo Distillery en grain whisky van Asakura Distillery.<br><br>Wat deze blend extra interessant maakt, is de herkomst van die grain whisky. Hiervoor wordt gerst gebruikt die lokaal wordt verbouwd in Asakura, Fukuoka. Beide onderdelen van de blend worden dus binnen hetzelfde bedrijf geproduceerd en zijn duidelijk verbonden met dezelfde streek. Geen anonieme bulkwhisky en geen vaag verhaal over de herkomst, maar een Japanse blend met een herkenbare band met de plek waar hij is gemaakt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gebotteld op 46%, werd SHINDO The Blended 2026 ontwikkeld als een toegankelijke whisky voor alledaags genieten, zonder het fruitige en romige karakter van Shindo te verliezen.<br><br><strong>Geur<\/strong>:<br>De eerste indruk is fris en zacht, met vanille, zoete gerst en een heldere toets van mandarijn. Daarna volgen lichte bloemen, witte perzik, gerstsnoepjes en een bijna boterachtige rijkdom. Met wat tijd in het glas komen karamel en romige mout steeds meer naar voren.<br><br><strong>Smaak<\/strong>:<br>Licht en helder bij de eerste slok, maar met een verrassend zachte en zijdeachtige textuur. Vanille, zoete granen en sappige sinaasappel worden gevolgd door zachte perzik, karamel en licht geroosterde mout. Een subtiel bittertje van citrus houdt de zoetheid mooi in balans, terwijl onderin een romige, bijna melkachtige toon ontstaat. Turf ontbreekt volledig, waardoor het fruit, de granen en de zachte rijkdom alle ruimte krijgen.<br><br><strong>Afdronk<\/strong>:<br>Gemiddeld lang, zacht en verwarmend. Vanille, zoete gerst en sinaasappelschil verdwijnen langzaam in geroosterde boter, mild eikenhout en een laatste florale zoetheid.<br><br>Dit is een toegankelijke Japanse blend, maar zeker geen eenvoudige. Puur komt hij mooi tot zijn recht, een paar druppels water maken hem nog zachter en zijn frisse, romige karakter lijkt haast gemaakt voor een Japanse highball. Een interessant nieuw hoofdstuk voor Shindo Distillery en tegelijk het bewijs dat ook een blended whisky een duidelijke herkomst, eigen karakter en herkenbare identiteit kan hebben.
