Deze whisky werd gedistilleerd in oktober 1989 en in maart 2026 gebotteld op 48,7% alcohol. Er zijn slechts 96 flessen van uitgebracht. Officieel gaat het om een 36 jaar oude Burnside, een teaspooned Balvenie waarin drie verschillende vattypen samenkomen: Bourbon, Pedro Xim\u00e9nez en Oloroso sherry. Ik had nog nooit een Balvenie van deze leeftijd mogen proeven\u2026 uhhh, ik bedoel natuurlijk een EnviaBle. En hij is echt fantastisch.<br><br><strong>Nose<\/strong><br>Een prachtige, volwassen en bijzonder uitnodigende neus. Eerst komen honing, vanillefudge en rijp boomgaardfruit naar voren, gevolgd door rozijnen, dadels, gepolijst hout en sinaasappelschil. Met wat tijd in het glas verschijnen ook fruitcake, geroosterde amandelen, kaneel en een zachte waxiness. Rijk en complex, maar nergens zwaar.<br><br><strong>Palate<\/strong><br>Vol, romig en heerlijk stroperig. Donkere honing, toffee en gedroogd fruit worden aangevuld met gebakken appel, sinaasappelmarmelade, chocoladerozijnen en vanillecustard. De bourboninvloed brengt romige vanille en karamel, terwijl de PX en Oloroso zorgen voor donker fruit, noten en warme specerijen.<br><br><strong>Finish<\/strong><br>Uitzonderlijk lang, warm en bijna plakkerig lekker. Donkere chocolade, honing, gedroogde sinaasappel, walnoten en oude eik blijven eindeloos aan het gehemelte hangen voordat alles heel langzaam wegzakt. De smaken blijven zo lang aanwezig dat het bijna onmogelijk is om niet direct nog een slok te nemen.<br><br>Dit is nu de vierde whisky die ik van Fruitful Spirits heb geproefd, en opnieuw weet hun vatselectie enorm veel indruk te maken. Een klein flesje met daarin een groot stuk whiskygeschiedenis. Slechts 96 flessen, 36 jaar rijping en een finish die simpelweg weigert te vertrekken.
