Myken ligt midden in de Noordelijke IJszee. Een piepklein eiland voor de kust van Noord-Noorwegen, ver boven de poolcirkel, waar zout, wind en ruig weer deel uitmaken van het dagelijks leven. Myken Distillery werd in 2014 opgericht door Roar Larsen en Trude Tokle nadat ze tijdens een zeiltocht op het eiland strandden. In plaats van weer te vertrekken, besloten ze een van de meest afgelegen whiskydistilleerderijen ter wereld te bouwen. De whisky wordt volledig op het eiland gemaakt, met ontzilt zeewater, koperen ketels en rijping in de beroemde Whisky Cathedral.<br>En eerlijk, alleen die naam verdient al een dram. In deze houten \u201ckathedraal\u201d rijpen de vaten langzaam door Arctische winters, zware stormen, het noorderlicht, eindeloze zomerdagen en de zilte zeelucht. E\u00e9n bijzonder Arctisch eiland. Afgelegen, eigenzinnig, door de zee gevormd en prachtig anders.
