Gerijpt in Cognacvaten, 46% ABV, en bewijs dat Frankrijk serieus interessant wordt op whiskygebied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure>\n\n\n\nWe praten vaak over Scotch whisky, Irish whiskey en Japanse whisky\u2026 maar Franse whisky, whisky fran\u00e7ais, verdient echt een grotere plek aan tafel. Dit is Brousse van Landa\u2019s Distillerie, een Franse single grain whisky gemaakt van gemoute gerst, ongemoute gerst en ma\u00efs, gerijpt in Cognacvaten \/ f\u00fbts de Cognac en gebotteld op 46% ABV. Niet Schotland. Ook niet proberen Schotland te zijn. Dit is Zuid-Frankrijk in je glas. Landa\u2019s ligt in de Aveyron, vlak bij het prachtige dorpje Brousse-le-Ch\u00e2teau, tussen oude stenen, heuvels en graanvelden. En het verhaal gaat verder terug dan whisky. In 1957 begon Justin Thiers met het distilleren van druivendraf in Aveyron. In 1970 stapte zijn zoon Raoul erbij en hield hij de familietraditie levend tot 2005. Daarna bracht Mathieu Recoules in 2017 het ambacht opnieuw tot leven in Lestrade, met \u00e9\u00e9n duidelijk doel: Franse whisky maken met een eigen identiteit. Geen groot fabrieksgevoel hier. Meer een kleine Franse distilleerderij die rustig haar eigen weg kiest, met geduld, trots en echt savoir-faire.
En eerlijk\u2026 deze whisky is gewoon heerlijk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nootachtig, warm en rijp. Rozijnen, eikenhout, rood fruit en vijgen, met een zachte toon van vanille die alles mooi afrondt.<\/p>\n\n\n\nSmaak<\/strong>:
Hints van leer en tabak, gedroogd fruit en een klein bittertje van het hout. Zoet en licht kruidig, met zelfs een frisse mentholtoets die hem interessant houdt.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAfdronk<\/strong>:
Middellang. Eikenhout, zoethout, cereal en kruidigheid die langzaam overgaan in een licht bittere afdronk.
Je proeft de passie hier. Niet op een schreeuwerige \u201ckijk mij eens\u201d manier, maar juist in de details. Er zit zo\u2019n licht rustiek Frans randje aan, een beetje terroir, waardoor hij anders voelt dan de bekende whiskyroute. En precies daarom vind ik hem zo leuk. Het herinnert je eraan dat goede whisky niet altijd uit de landen hoeft te komen die we al uit ons hoofd kennen. Soms moet je gewoon iets verder kijken. Naar Frankrijk bijvoorbeeld. Want flessen zoals deze laten zien dat er nog z\u00f3 veel te ontdekken valt.
