Niet alleen whisky\u2026 maar een duidelijke visie. Finn Thomson is opgegroeid tussen de vaten, blending en whiskygeschiedenis via zijn familie, en dat proef je terug in elke selectie. Dit zijn geen willekeurige vaten. Dit zijn keuzes met een idee erachter. Deze nieuwe reeks brengt negen totaal verschillende expressies samen, waarbij elke fles een distilleerderij laat zien op zijn eigen moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow typische kustachtige peat, mooi verweven met zachte Oloroso sherry-invloeden.<br>Daarnaast staat de Caol Ila 14 yo, gefinisht in een Xim\u00e9nez-Sp\u00ednola vat, waar rook samenkomt met een diepere, iets zoetere laag zonder zijn Islay-karakter te verliezen.<br><br>Dan is er de Clynelish 12 yo\u2026 die herkenbare waxy textuur, bijna olieachtig, een stijl die zich langzaam opbouwt in het glas. De Glenturret 15 yo voegt weer iets anders toe, lichte rook gecombineerd met sherrydiepte, een stijl die je steeds minder vaak tegenkomt.<br><br>Ga je richting oudere whisky\u2019s, dan wordt het nog interessanter. De Longmorn 34 yo laat die klassieke Speyside fruitigheid zien, verzacht en verdiept door tijd en PX-invloed. De North British 34 yo zet grain whisky in de spotlight, romig, zoet, met bijna tropische tonen die soms richting oude rum gaan. En dan\u2026 de Invergordon 50 yo. Een halve eeuw op vat. Dit is geduld in vloeibare vorm. Zacht fruit, vanille, subtiel hout\u2026 niets schreeuwerigs, maar pure, rustige complexiteit.<br><br>Aan de jongere kant laat de Ardnamurchan 7 yo zien hoe goed moderne distilleerderijen kunnen zijn. Volledig gerijpt op sherryvaten, maar nog steeds fris, kustachtig en precies. En als laatste de Glenkinchie 12 yo, een distilleerderij die je niet vaak ziet bij onafhankelijke bottelingen, en die hier laat zien hoe elegant en verfijnd Lowland whisky kan zijn.<br><br>Negen vaten. Negen totaal verschillende verhalen. Van peat en rook tot wax, fruit en oude grain whisky\u2026 dit is whisky in zijn puurste vorm. Dit is wat ik zo mooi vind aan onafhankelijke bottelaars.
