Lafert\u00e9 is opgezet door drie mannen uit de wereld van wijn, cognac en premium spirits: Anthony Davoigniot, Adrien Douady en Loys Vallon de Testa. Drie verschillende achtergronden, \u00e9\u00e9n duidelijke visie. Niet proberen Scotch te kopi\u00ebren\u2026 maar whisky benaderen met een Franse blik. Meer focus op balans, op blenden\u2026 op assemblage. En dat proef je eigenlijk meteen. Master Blender Adrien Douady brengt die precisie uit de cognacwereld, zonder dat het ooit geforceerd voelt. Er zit een bepaalde l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 in. Niets zwaar, niets overdreven\u2026 alles valt gewoon mooi op z\u2019n plek.<\/p>\n<\/div> Deze eerste release laat meteen zien waar ze voor staan. 100% gemoute gerst, gerijpt op ex-bourbon, ex-rum en ex-cognac vaten. Op papier kan dat alle kanten op gaan\u2026 maar in het glas voelt het verrassend logisch. De bourbon geeft zachte vanille. De cognac brengt fruit en elegantie. En de rum geeft net een kleine twist. Niet gemaakt om indruk te schreeuwen. Gewoon stil z\u2019n werk doen. Fris en open. Groene appel, peer en lichte florale tonen\u2026 gevolgd door vanille, poedersuiker en zachte honing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Licht en soepel. Vanille, cr\u00e8me br\u00fbl\u00e9e, een romige touch met een subtiele zoetheid\u2026 mooi in balans met frisse fruitigheid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Middellang. Zoete tonen blijven hangen met poedersuiker en frisse appel, gevolgd door een schone, lichte afdronk.
Voor mij is dit precies wat Franse whisky nu zo interessant maakt. Niet harder\u2026 maar n\u00e9t wat eleganter. En voor je het weet sta je alweer met een leeg glas.
