Spiritfilled, opgericht door Ross Archer en Russell Spratley, bottelt niet zomaar whisky. Met hun Mythical Beasts-serie geven ze elke release een eigen identiteit. Geen label om het label\u2026 maar een karakter dat \u00e9cht bij de whisky past. Deze is Nyami Nyami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Een riviergod. Rustig aan de oppervlakte\u2026 maar krachtig daaronder. En dat is precies wat deze dram doet. Balmenach Distillery is geen naam die je vaak als single malt tegenkomt\u2026 dus alleen dat maakt dit al een beetje een ontdekking. Met 59,2% komt hij stevig binnen. Maar geef \u2018m even de tijd\u2026 en dan begint hij zich langzaam uit te pakken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Begint scherp en direct, maar opent naar vijgen, dadels, rozijnen, pure chocolade, cacao, karamelzoetheid, sinaasappelschil en warme specerijen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dik en stroperig, rijk en vol. Gember voorop, daarna diepe gedroogde vruchten, dadels, vijgen, rozijnen\u2026 gelaagd en verrassend gecontroleerd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lang en verwarmend. Houtkruiden bouwen op, donker fruit blijft hangen, een korte zoete opleving\u2026 en dan gember met een lichte peperkick. Dit is hoe een \u00e9chte sherry bomb hoort te zijn.
