Corporal Wojtek 12 jaar oude Speyside whisky, gerijpt in Pedro Xim\u00e9nez sherryvaten en gebotteld op 50,5% ABV. Niet zomaar een beer\u2026 maar Wojtek.
Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog vonden Poolse soldaten hem als kleine welp in Iran. Ze voedden hem met de fles en hij werd onderdeel van hun eenheid. Hij reisde met hen mee, sliep naast hen en hielp tijdens de Slag om Monte Cassino zelfs met het dragen van munitiekisten. Zo verdiende hij zijn titel: korporaal Wojtek. Een beer. Een soldaat. Een legende. En nu\u2026 voortlevend in whisky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\nDeze 12 jaar oude Speyside van Precious Liquors, onderdeel van de Three Wise Men Selection, heeft een finish in Pedro Xim\u00e9nez sherry barriques en is gelimiteerd tot slechts 450 flessen. Een rijke sherry cask whisky met diepe tonen van fruit, chocolade en kruiden. Vol karakter en diepgang, waarbij elke slok een stukje van het verhaal vertelt.
Neus<\/strong>:
Diep en uitnodigend. Donkere kersen, rozijnen en vijgen, omhuld door honing en karamel. Notige tonen, chocolade, sinaasappelschil en gepolijst eiken.
Smaak<\/strong>:
Vol en romig. Honing, dadels en melasse, gevolgd door gestoofd fruit en rozijnen. Kruiden, notige tonen en een romige laag van pure chocolade en kersen.
Afdronk<\/strong>:
Lang, verwarmend en gelaagd. Cacao, espresso en geroosterde noten, langzaam overgaand in drogend eiken en zachte kruiden. Donker fruit blijft subtiel hangen, met een elegante, licht droge finale.
Daar buiten, met deze fles en een stukje geschiedenis om me heen\u2026 voelde het niet als zomaar een fotomoment. Het voelde alsof het verhaal nog steeds een beetje leefde. Dankbaar dat ik deze heb mogen ervaren. En eerlijk\u2026 een echte aanrader als je houdt van rijke, sherrygedreven whisky\u2019s met een verhaal.
