Meer smeulend kampvuur dan as. Daarna klapt de Moscatel open: rijpe druiven, rozijnen, honing en florale zoetheid. Fruitcake, sinaasappelschil en muskaatwijn, met daaronder vochtig hout, milde specerijen en een vleugje wierook.<br><br><strong>Smaak<\/strong>:<br>Mooi in balans. Droge, aardse peat vormt de ruggengraat, terwijl de Moscatel lagen toevoegt van druivensiroop, abrikoos, honing en zachte karamel. In het midden een wijnachtige rondheid, opgetild door kaneel en witte peper. De rook neemt niet over. Die weeft.<br><br><strong>Finish<\/strong>:<br>Medium tot lang. De zoetheid ebt weg, droge turf neemt het over, gevolgd door cacao en een licht bittere druivenschil-toets. Een droog einde, met die wijnachtige tannines die blijven hangen als een laatste handdruk. In het kort Turf met elegantie. Rook ontmoet zonrijpe druiven. Zoet zonder plakkerig te worden, rokerig zonder te schreeuwen. Een finish voor liefhebbers van contrast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"720\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1280 \/ 720;\" width=\"1280\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.thedutchwhiskyassociation.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/4C3m8V2n.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Over de whisky <\/strong><br>it is Ruadh Maor, de geturfde kant van The Glenturret. Zelfde roots, andere houding. Verwacht Highland peat: droger, aardser, een tikje roetig en ruig, niet medicinaal. Met 14 jaar en 57,3% is dit geen achtergronddram, maar eentje waarvoor je gaat zitten.<br><br>De Moscatel hogshead geeft een honing-druiven gloed zonder suikerbom te worden. Kampvuurrook, met een zak rozijnen op zak. Over de bottelaar Alistair Walker Whisky Company bottelt klein, vaak single cask, en laat de whisky spreken. De Infrequent Flyers-serie draait om releases die je niet elke dag ziet: interessante distilleerderijen, eigenzinnige rijpingen en \u00e9cht beperkte oplages. Geen massaproduct.
