Port Charlotte heeft op 9 oktober 2024 de nieuwste release in hun Cask Exploration Serie gelanceerd: de Port Charlotte SYC:01 2013. Deze heavily peated Islay Single Malt Whisky heeft gerijpt in Syrah-vaten uit de noordelijke Rh\u00f4ne, wat hem rijke rode fruittonen en subtiele kruiden geeft, die goed samengaan met de kenmerkende rokerige smaak van Port Charlotte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit is de eerste keer dat Syrah-vaten worden gebruikt in deze serie. De whisky, gedistilleerd in 2013, begon zijn rijping in bourbonvaten en werd in 2018 voor vier jaar overgebracht naar Syrah-vaten. Uiteindelijk werd hij opnieuw in bourbonvaten gelegd om de rijping af te ronden. Deze release, met 54,4% alcohol en 40 PPM aan turf, toont de invloed van de wijnvaten op het eindproduct duidelijk.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
